Variable-Frequency Drive
A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is an electrical control system used to adjust the speed and torque of AC induction motors. The VFD converts a fixed voltage, fixed frequency input power into an adjustable frequency and/or adjustable voltage output power which can be used to control the speed and torque of an AC motor. A VFD helps increase or decrease the speed of an induction motor depending on the process requirement, resulting in improved efficiency, energy savings and better process accuracy.
