Specifically, a vertical air handler is one in which all components are stacked vertically on top of each other as opposed to horizontally. Typical components include filters, heating and coolcooling coils, fans, and motors. A vertical air handler is often used in data centers, healthcare facilities, retail stores, offices and manufacturing plants.
