Ahri Standards

Ahri Standards, or American Health Information Resources Institute Standards, are internationally accepted and recognized protocols developed to protect the privacy, security, and integrity of individuals’ health information. Ahri Standards provide guidance to healthcare organizations, institutions and other stakeholders as to how best to store, manage, access and transmit data securely, while ensuring that sensitive patient information is protected from improper use. By establishing a set of principles and a framework for actionable solutions for handling protected health information (PHI), these standards ensure all stakeholders are aware of and accountable for their duties in remaining compliant with global safety regulations. These standards support global interoperability, providing an essential foundation to facilitate healthcare IT applications across different platforms. As a result, patients organisations have peace of mind knowing their most sensitive records — from medical history to prescriptions — are secure from data breaches.
