Dry bulb temperature is the temperature of air as measured by a dry-bulb thermometer. The dry-bulb temperature is the true air temperature and is the thermodynamic equivalent of the air’s potential temperature. The term ‘dry bulb’ is used to distinguish it from the ‘wet bulb’ or ‘globe’ temperature.
