Analog Input (Ai)
Analog input (Ai) is a signal that is continuously variable over some range. In contrast, digital signals have only two possible states, on or off. Analog inputs are often used to measure real-world conditions such as temperature, light level, pressure, or speed.
A building management system (BMS) is a computer-based control system that manages and controls the mechanical and electrical equipment in a building. BMSs are typically used in commercial buildings such as office towers and hotels.
The analog input module of a BMS takes input signals from various sensors and devices in the building and converts them into digital form for processing by the BMS controller. The analog input module may also include features such as programmable gain and filters to condition the signal before it is converted.
