BMS Controls Glossary

Hot Water

The definition of a hot water system is quite simple: it is a system that uses heated water to provide hot water for a variety of uses. Hot water systems are used in both residential and commercial settings to provide hot water for showers, baths, washing machines, dishwashers, and other uses. Hot water systems can be powered by electricity, gas, or solar energy, and can be either tankless or with a storage tank. Tankless systems are more efficient, as they heat water on demand, while storage tank systems have a tank that stores hot water for future use. Hot water systems are also available in a variety of sizes and styles, depending on the needs of the user. For example, a large home may require a larger system than a small apartment. Hot water systems are essential for providing hot water in any home or business, and can be an important part of any energy-efficient home.
