Kilovolt (Kv) 

A kilovolt (kV) is a unit of measure for voltage. It is most commonly used in the electrical power industry to describe the voltage between two points in a circuit. For example, the power converter at a hydroelectric dam may have a generating capacity of 10,000 volts (10 kV).
