BMS Controls Glossary

Reactive

The definition of a reactive system is one that responds to external stimuli in a timely manner. It is a system that is designed to react quickly to changes in its environment, such as changes in user input, external data sources, or other external events. Reactive systems are characterized by their ability to respond to events quickly and accurately, often in real-time. This type of system is often used in applications that require high performance, such as video games, web applications, and financial trading systems. Reactive systems are also used in industrial automation and robotics, where the system must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in its environment. Reactive systems are also used in distributed systems, where the system must be able to respond to events from multiple sources in a timely manner. In order to achieve this, reactive systems must be designed to be highly responsive, reliable, and resilient. Reactive systems are designed to be able to handle large amounts of data and events in a timely manner, and must be able to scale to meet the demands of the application.
