Rs-232

Rs-232

building management system (BMS) is a computer-based control system installed in buildings that controls and monitors the building’s mechanical and electrical equipment such as ventilation, lighting, power systems, fire systems, and security systems. BMS are typically controlled and monitored via a graphical user interface (GUI) connected to the local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) of the building.

Building occupants can also be given access to the BMS via a web interface to view current status and run reports. Some advanced BMS may also include features such as automatic temperature control, load shedding, demand response, and integration with other systems such as security or energy management systems.

The Rs-232 definition for a BMS is: “a type of serial communication used to transfer data between two devices.”
