BMS Controls Glossary

Systems Controller

The definition of a systems controller is a person or group of people responsible for managing the technical operations of an organization. This could include the maintenance and repair of hardware, software, and systems. It also encompasses the upkeep of the networks, servers, and databases used by the organization. The systems controller is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable and secure. This could include setting up firewalls, monitoring for malware, and configuring servers. They must also understand the policies and procedures related to the organization’s systems, and be able to respond to any system-related issues that may arise. In addition to the technical skills, a systems controller must also be able to communicate with the rest of the organization. This includes being able to explain complex concepts in simple terms and working closely with other departments to ensure that their needs are met. Additionally, the systems controller must remain up to date on the latest technology changes and be able to adapt to them quickly.
