Total Productive Maintenance

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a system of maintenance that focuses on the optimization of production equipment and processes. It is an approach to maintenance that seeks to maximize the effectiveness of the production process by improving the reliability of equipment, reducing downtime, and increasing overall productivity. TPM is a holistic approach to maintenance that includes preventive maintenance, proactive maintenance, and autonomous maintenance. Preventive maintenance involves the use of regular maintenance checks and inspections to identify and address potential problems before they occur. Proactive maintenance is a form of maintenance that focuses on anticipating and addressing potential problems before they occur. Autonomous maintenance is a form of maintenance that is done by the operator of the equipment and focuses on improving the reliability and performance of the equipment. TPM also includes the use of statistical process control to identify and address potential problems in the production process. By using TPM, organizations can reduce downtime, improve the reliability of their equipment, and increase overall productivity.
