Virtual Machine

Virtual Machine

A virtual machine is a software implementation of a machine (i.e. a computer) that executes programs like a physical machine. Virtual machines are created by running off a hypervisor, which can be either software-based or hardware-based. Common uses for virtual machines include servers, desktop operating systems, and embedded systems.

There are many benefits to using virtual machines, as they offer flexibility and scalability that physical machines cannot match. For example, you can easily create multiple virtual machines on a single physical machine, and each virtual machine can be configured with its own individual settings and resources.

This makes it easy to test new software or configurations without affecting other virtual machines or the physical machine itself. Additionally, if more resources are needed, they can be added to the virtual machine without having to purchase new hardware.
