BMS Controls Glossary

Input Output

Input/Output (I/O) is a term used to describe the process of exchanging data between two different systems or components. It is a fundamental concept in computing, and is used to describe the transfer of data between a computer and its peripherals, such as a keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, or other external devices. Input/Output can also refer to the data itself, such as the information stored in a file or the data that is being sent over a network. In addition, I/O can refer to the way in which the data is processed, such as how it is read, written, or manipulated. I/O is an essential part of any computer system, as it is responsible for transferring data between the system and its peripherals. Without I/O, a computer would be unable to interact with its environment, and would be unable to perform any tasks.
