BMS Controls Glossary

Comfortable Temperature

The definition of a comfortable temperature can vary greatly from person to person, as everyone has different preferences when it comes to how warm or cool they like to be. Generally speaking, a comfortable temperature is one that is neither too hot nor too cold, but instead is somewhere in the middle. A comfortable temperature should be cool enough to prevent perspiration, but warm enough to keep you from feeling chilled. In most cases, a comfortable temperature is somewhere between 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit, but this can also depend on the season and the climate you live in. It is important to remember that comfort is subjective, so what may be comfortable for one person may not be comfortable for another. Ultimately, it is important to find a temperature that works best for you and your environment.
