Energy Efficiency: The practice of reducing energy consumption while maintaining the same or better levels of performance. To ensure energy efficiency, facility managers must identify and assess energy needs and usage in order to implement cost-effective strategies that reduce waste while improving productivity. Energy efficiency also involves actively monitoring systems and processes to detect opportunities for improvement, as well as incorporating energy-saving technologies where appropriate.
