Low Flow Fume Hood

A low flow fume hood is a type of laboratory ventilation system that helps to protect laboratory personnel from hazardous fumes and vapors. It is designed to capture and contain fumes and vapors at the source, while providing a safe and efficient means of ventilation. Low flow fume hoods are typically used in applications where a standard fume hood is not suitable, such as in laboratories where the volume of hazardous fumes is low or the area of the laboratory is limited. Low flow fume hoods are designed to provide a lower face velocity than a standard fume hood, which helps to reduce the amount of air exhausted from the laboratory. This helps to reduce energy costs and improve air quality in the laboratory. Low flow fume hoods are typically equipped with filters to help remove hazardous particles from the air before it is exhausted. The use of a low flow fume hood can help to ensure the safety of laboratory personnel by reducing their exposure to hazardous fumes and vapors.
