Mini-Split Hook-Up
What is the definition of a mini-split hook-up? A mini-split hook-up is a type of heating and cooling system that consists of two components: an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. The outdoor unit is usually mounted on a wall and houses the compressor, condenser, and expansion device. The indoor unit, often referred to as the evaporator, is usually hung from the ceiling or wall and circulates the cooled or heated air throughout the room. The two components are connected via two copper pipes and two electrical cables, allowing for efficient energy transfer.
The outdoor unit pumps the refrigerant to the indoor unit, where it is compressed and condensed into a liquid. This liquid is then expanded and cooled as it passes through the evaporator coil and is then distributed throughout the room via air ducts. The indoor unit also includes a fan, which helps to circulate the air, as well as a filter to help reduce dust and allergens.
