Retrofit

Retrofit: The process of updating existing equipment or systems in order to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and/or provide maintenance benefits. Retrofits can range from simple adjustments such as replacing outdated parts, to major overhauls such as replacing an entire system or even building a new facility. Retrofitting is a great way to bring older systems up-to-date with modern technology, without having to completely start fresh.
