Return Air Temperature (Rat) 

The return air temperature (Rat) is the temperature of the air that is returned to a building’s HVAC system. The return air can be taken from the space that is being heated or cooled, or it can come from outside the space. The Rat is used to determine the desired supply air temperature (SAT) for a given space.
