Total Preventive Maintenance

Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) is a system of maintenance that focuses on the prevention of equipment breakdowns and failures. It is a comprehensive approach to maintenance that includes both proactive and reactive mainmaintenance strategies. The goal of TPM is to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiency and reliability, while minimizing downtime and costs associated with maintenance. TPM includes a variety of strategies such as preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance. Preventive maintenance involves regularly scheduled inspections and maintenance activities to identify and address potential problems before they become major issues. Predictive maintenance uses data analysis to anticipate and address potential problems before they occur. Finally, corrective maintenance is used to address existing problems that have already occurred. By using a combination of these strategies, TPM can help reduce downtime, improve safety, and increase equipment life.
