Wireless Building Energy Management System
A building energy management system (BEMS) is a system of integrated hardware and software that controls, monitors and optimizes the energy use of a building or group of buildings. BEMS can also be used to manage other environmental parameters such as lighting, temperature, humidity and ventilation.
BEMS typically consists of four main components:
Sensors: To collect data on various aspects of the building such as occupancy, temperature, light level, etc.
Controllers: To receive data from the sensors and make decisions on how to operate the systems in the building to optimize energy use.
Software: To store data collected by the sensors and provide it to the controllers to make decisions. The software can also provide analysis and reporting tools for building occupants and managers.
Networks: To connect all the components of the system together so they can communicate with each other.
