BMS Controls Glossary

Building Management System Energy Savings

A Building Management System (BMS) is a system designed to optimize the energy efficiency of a building. It works by collecting data from various sensors located throughout the building, analyzing it, and then making decisions on how to best manage the building’s energy usage. The system can be used to control heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and other systems in order to reduce energy consumption and costs. BMS systems can also be used to monitor and control the building’s security, fire safety, and other safety systems. By using the data collected from the sensors, the BMS can provide real-time feedback on the building’s energy usage and help identify areas where energy savings can be made. By making small changes to the building’s energy usage, such as turning off lights when not in use, or setting the temperature to a more efficient level, the BMS can help reduce energy costs and improve the overall energy efficiency of the building.
