Planned Maintenance

Planned maintenance is a proactive approach to maintenance and is a critical component of any successful maintenance program. It involves regularly scheduled inspections, tests, and preventive maintenance activities that are designed to detect and prevent equipment failures before they occur. Planned maintenance activities are typically based on the manufacturer’s recommendations and industry best practices. These activities are typically performed on a regular basis and may include changing oil, checking fluid levels, inspecting belts and hoses, and cleaning and lubricating components. The goal of planned maintenance is to keep equipment running at peak performance and reduce the risk of unplanned downtime. It also helps to extend the life of the equipment and reduce the cost of ownership. Additionally, planned maintenance can help to reduce the risk of safety incidents, as well as reduce the environmental impact of equipment failure.
