BACnet is an acronym for Building Automation and Control Networks. It is a communication protocol for building automation systems that enables interoperability between different systems and equipment. The BACnet protocol was developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in order to promote interoperability in the building automation industry.
