BMS Controls Glossary

Hvac

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and is a term used to describe a system that provides indoor climate control. It is an essential part of any home or commercial building, as it regulates the temperature, humidity, and air quality of the interior space. HVAC systems are composed of several components, including an air handler, a condenser, a furnace, and an evaporator coil. The air handler is responsible for circulating air throughout the building, while the condenser and furnace are responsible for heating and cooling the air. The evaporator coil is responsible for removing moisture from the air. HVAC systems can be powered by electricity, natural gas, or propane, and can be used to heat and cool a variety of spaces, from residential homes to large commercial buildings. HVAC systems are designed to provide comfort and safety for occupants, while also reducing energy costs.
