BMS – Building Management Systems – is a term used to define the technology used to manage and regulate the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) of a building. In simple terms, it refers to the brains behind a building’s energy efficiency and comfort. The BMS provides automated control over various aspects of the facility, often with intelligence that allows for predictive maintenance and fault detection. It is designed to save energy when cooling/heating a building; controlling fan speeds, air flow distribution, heating levels and other parameters in response to pre-determined conditions. As such, businesses are increasingly investing in BMS systems that promise greater energy savings and overall better control over the environment inside their building.
