Air Handler Unit

An air handler unit (AHU) is a device used to condition and circulate air as part of a heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system. An AHU consists of a blower, heating or cooling elements, filter racks or chambers, sound attenuators, and dampers. The air handler is usually connected to a ductwork ventilation system that distributes the conditioned air through the building and returns it to the AHU. The AHU is typically a large metal box containing a blower, heating and/or cooling elements, filter racks or chambers, sound attenuators, and dampers. The blower, also known as an air-handling fan, is used to move air through the unit. The heating and/or cooling elements are used to heat or cool the air as it passes through the unit. The filter racks or chambers are used to remove airborne particles from the air. The sound attenuators are used to reduce the noise generated by the unit. The dampers are used to control the flow of air through the unit. The AHU is an important component of any HVAC system, as it helps to ensure that the air in a building is comfortable and safe to breathe.
